Prior to opening a new business, converting a home into apartments, adding an addition and developing a parking lot, a zoning permit must be submitted. Zoning permits are required for the verification of proper land use in the City of Camden. This application is reviewed by the zoning officer and is either approved or denied. Zoning permit approvals and denials only apply to land use, other city department permits may be necessary prior to the development and/or conversion of any parcel of land or property.
Requirements
The Zoning permit application can be obtained at the Division, City Hall room 224.
- Proof of ownership (deed, tax bill, or lease)
- Completed Tax Certification
- A detailed floor plan of proposed use. Any addition or accessory uses must have a plot plan with rear and side set back. You can obtain a plot plan from (Engineering Dept 101 Newton Ave, 3rd Floor). Any construction of a fence or additions must have a survey with location of the fence or addition on it. *(3 copies of all/any plans must accompany application)
