The Business Development Center was created in 1999 to streamline the City of Camden's bureaucracy of assisting businesses and developers with business ventures. As such, in functions as the single point of contact for all business inquiries, as well as a clearinghouse for potential developers.

It is a public/private partnership, which includes but is not limited to the coordination of efforts between the City of and various economic development programs described in greater detail on this and the following pages. The Center houses the Camden Redevelopment Agency, administers the Urban Enterprise Zone Program and manages/oversees various federal and state funded projects.
