Delaware River Port Authority
The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) of Pennsylvania and New Jersey is a self-financing agency that owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Betsy Ross and Commodore Barry bridges. It also owns and operates the PATCO High-Speed Line and AmeriPort, an intermodal rail center serving the port district. The Port of Philadelphia and Camden is a DRPA subsidiary and can be contacted at (856) 968-2000. Because it is a bi-state agency, the DRPA can focus on issues that demand regional concern. These have included port unification, commercial revitalization of the Delaware River Waterfront and programs to help small- and medium-sized companies expand and become more productive.
The DRPA's Regional Development and International Trade Division focuses on the following objectives:
-
Create new job opportunities, as well as retain existing jobs.
-
Attract new and innovative businesses and technologies to the Delaware Valley.
-
Renovate and rebuild the waterfront as a center for business and social activity.
-
Help in the development of industrial parks.
-
Enable individual communities to become economically secure and stable.
-
Provide much-needed service-oriented businesses to communities.
