The ceremonial naming of a street, facility, building, park or other structure in the City of Camden is an effective method of honoring a noteworthy person and the City of Camden has determined, by ordinance, that the process for determining whether a person should receive such an honor by the ceremonial naming of a street, facility, building, park or other structure in the City of Camden, should be consistent and orderly and such a process of selection should be seen as enhancing such an honor to be conveyed.
Therefore, the City Council of the City of Camden established Chapter 165 of the Camden City Code to address the process for a private person to seek approval from the Administration and City Council of the City of Camden for the honorary or ceremonial naming of a street, facility, building, park or other structure, in the City of Camden and the setting of fees for this application.
Chapter 165 establishes the process by which a private person may seek to have an honorary or ceremonial naming of a street, facility, building park or other structure in the City of Camden take place in the City of Camden. Chapter 165 does not apply to requests made to the City Council of the City of Camden when either the Mayor or a member of the City Council of the City of Camden is seeking to have an honorary or ceremonial naming of a street, facility, building park or other structure in the City of Camden, take place in the City of Camden.
